![]() Park Street SchoolBoston, Massachusetts I frequently advise my clients that you cannot optimize cost, quality and schedule all at once. After this project, however, I need to rethink my position since Marc Truant & Associates performed so well on all three. MTA rose to the many challenges of this interesting project and delivered a quality job under very tight time, site and budgetary constraints. A long-standing relationship with Park Street Church positioned Marc Truant & Associates, Inc. to provide preconstruction services, and then to complete the renovation and modernization of a 1913 historic brick building on Beacon Hill. The completed Park Street School—25,000 square feet—contains twelve classrooms, a multipurpose room/ gymnasium with climbing wall, a science laboratory, a library with ornamental plaster crown molding and original woodwork, and art and music rooms. Following LEED guidelines, several high-efficiency mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems were installed. Careful preservation work took place around historic elements, such as fireplaces, bay windows and original millwork found in many of the classrooms. Photographs: Anton Grassl |
