University Lutheran Church

Extensive renovations to this church and homeless shelter in the heart of Harvard Square were made in only nine months. The 50 year-old church required a new narthex, acoustic treatments, sprinkler system, lighting, cooling/heating and an addition for the sacristy. Marc Truant & Associates, Inc. remodeled the church offices, Sunday School space and bathrooms, and rebuilt a unique 3 story radius glass block wall. A handicap entrance ramp to the homeless shelter located in the church basement was added on a constrained site, requiring extensive coordination with the City of Cambridge and Harvard University.
